Nine Theology Seminarians Receive Candidacy to Diaconate
On April 25, 2026, a grace-filled celebration marked an important step in the journey of nine Fourth Year Theology seminarians, who were formally admitted to Candidacy for the Diaconate. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Most. Rev. Subroto Bonifas Gomes, whose presence brought spiritual depth and pastoral encouragement to the occasion.
The Rite of Admission to Candidacy signifies the Church’s official recognition of the seminarians’ intention to pursue Holy Orders and their readiness to continue more intense preparation for ordained ministry. Through this step, the candidates deepen their commitment to Christ and to the service of the Church.
During the Mass, the candidates publicly expressed their willingness to faithfully prepare themselves for the responsibilities of the Diaconate. In his homily, the Bishop urged them to remain steadfast in prayer, grounded in humility, and generous in service, as they continue to discern and respond to God’s call. The seminary community also joined in thanksgiving and prayer for these candidates. The celebration stood as a sign of hope and blessing for the local Church, reflecting God’s continued call to serve His people. This milestone not only affirms the vocation of these seminarians but also strengthens the mission of the Church as it prepares future ministers dedicated to service, charity, and the proclamation of the Gospel.
