Cassock Investiture and Institution of Acolytes at Holy Spirit Major Seminary

Holy Spirit Major Seminary, Banani, celebrated two significant milestones in the formation journey of its seminarians on Friday, 6 February 2026, and Saturday, 7 February 2026.

On Friday, 6 February, 13 seminarians were formally vested with the cassock, marking an important stage in their commitment to priestly formation and ecclesial life. The cassock investiture symbolized their deeper dedication to Christ, the Church, and the path of ordained ministry.

The celebrations continued on Saturday, 7 February 2026, with the Institution of Acolytes during the Morning Holy Mass, presided over by His Excellency Bishop Shorot Francis Gomes. Through this liturgical ministry, the candidates were entrusted with a special role in assisting at the altar and serving the Eucharist, further strengthening their formation for future pastoral service.

The parents and family members of the candidates were present on both days, sharing in the joy and spiritual significance of these occasions and offering their prayerful support for their sons’ vocation.

A cultural program was held on the afternoon of 7 February, fostering fellowship and joyful celebration within the seminary community. The two-day program concluded with a communal lunch, bringing the celebrations to a warm and fraternal close.
